Broadway Grill: About Us The Broadway Grill, the brainchild of twin sisters Connie and Joy Morris, is open for business in downtown Burlingame at 1400 Broadway Ave. The new 4,100 square foot family-style restaurant is located in the building that was a satellite branch of the Bank of America since 1923. The Broadway Grill will feature moderate priced wood-fired cooking and a menu of hearty and healthy food that is both children friendly and that adults will love too.

The Morris twins started working on the concept for their restaurant when they discussed the lack of good local choices to take their families out to eat. Soon after their idea was hatched they learn that the city of Burlingame was about to lift a years-long moratorium on any new restaurants in the area and would be issuing five new permits. Connie and Joy were the first applicants to file for a permit and after four years of planning, designing, and building the new restaurant their Opening Day is now upon them.

The chef at the Broadway Grill is Art Martinez the former head-chef at the Hilton Hotel, Bubba Gumps’ restaurants, and the Crystal Springs Golf Course. Chef Martinez will be serving up everything from Prime Rib to Firecracker Shrimp to Macaroni and Cheese for the kids. Be sure to bring your appetite!

The atmosphere of the Broadway Grill is a tribute to the Broadway on the other side of the country and to the heritage of the old bank building. From the time you enter the restaurant you’ll see the visual cues that reference New York City’s deco architecture and lots of Broadway memorabilia that salute the Big Apple’s famous theatre district. You’ll see a staircase that reminds you of a New York Subway Station, comfortable dining booths with cut-glass bank dividers, and authentic Broadway show posters that are adorned throughout the restaurant.

Connie and Joy Morris were born at San Francisco’s St. Mary’s Hospital, Connie first by five minutes. The fraternal twins both graduated from Lowell High School in the City and followed the same career path to the University of the Pacific where they both became dentists. Growing up the girls shared everything- the same room and the same car, but they were never competitive with each other and remain best friends. Pure Ecstasy at the Broadway Grill

The Broadway Grill Presents Motown Monday's Featuring Pure Ecstasy.  The Broadway Grill in Burlingame will have two very special guest singers joining Pure Ecstasy for the restaurant’s super popular Motown Mondays continuing through the end of summer.

Fred Ross who is the lead vocalist with The Family Stone Xperience will be joining Pure Ecstasy’s Preston Turner when they perform the rich catalog of Motown songs including “I Heard It Through The Grapevine,” “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “I Can’t Help Myself,” and many more.

Fred’s musical resume includes recording with Aretha Franklin, Tower of Power, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Chaka Kahn, and The Commodores. Most recently, he has been touring the United States and Europe as lead vocalist with The Family Stone Xperience that includes original members of Sly & The Family Stone.

Pure Ecstasy, featuring Preston Turner has been performing at the Broadway Grill every Monday for the past year during the restaurant’s Motown Mondays. “Pure Ecstasy has created a real following at the Broadway Grill,” stated Nick Bovis co-owner of the Burlingame eatery. “They engage the crowd every week with the Motown classics and it will be a real treat to have Tony and Fred join in.”
