The Broadway Grill, the brainchild of twin sisters Connie and Joy Morris, is open for business in downtown Burlingame at 1400 Broadway Ave. The new 4,100 square foot family-style restaurant is located in the building that was a satellite branch of the Bank of America since 1923. The Broadway Grill will feature moderate priced wood-fired cooking and a menu of hearty and healthy food that is both children friendly and that adults will love too.

The Morris twins started working on the concept for their restaurant when they discussed the lack of good local choices to take their families out to eat. Soon after their idea was hatched they learn that the city of Burlingame was about to lift a years-long moratorium on any new restaurants in the area and would be issuing five new permits. Connie and Joy were the first applicants to file for a permit and after four years of planning, designing, and building the new restaurant their Opening Day is now upon them.

The chef at the Broadway Grill is Art Martinez the former head-chef at the Hilton Hotel, Bubba Gumps’ restaurants, and the Crystal Springs Golf Course. Chef Martinez will be serving up everything from Prime Rib to Firecracker Shrimp to Macaroni and Cheese for the kids. Be sure to bring your appetite!

The atmosphere of the Broadway Grill is a tribute to the Broadway on the other side of the country and to the heritage of the old bank building. From the time you enter the restaurant you’ll see the visual cues that reference New York City’s deco architecture and lots of Broadway memorabilia that salute the Big Apple’s famous theatre district. You’ll see a staircase that reminds you of a New York Subway Station, comfortable dining booths with cut-glass bank dividers, and authentic Broadway show posters that are adorned throughout the restaurant.

Connie and Joy Morris were born at San Francisco’s St. Mary’s Hospital, Connie first by five minutes. The fraternal twins both graduated from Lowell High School in the City and followed the same career path to the University of the Pacific where they both became dentists. Growing up the girls shared everything- the same room and the same car, but they were never competitive with each other and remain best friends. Today the women are both married with a boy and a girl each and each have successful dental practices and a brand new family restaurant.

	OUR EXECUTIVE CHEF Chef Justin Aiello was born to cook! He studied at California Culinary Academy and did his internship under the Bradley Ogden group working with Chef Adrian Hoffman from One Market in SF. His expertise running a kitchen has helped open two new very successful upscale restaurants at SFO Airport. Sous Chef at Yankee Pier and then the Executive Chef at Perry's of SF his talent was unmatched. Bringing his culinary artistry to the Grill he lends his knowledge to an already star-studded cast. You can hear him playing trombone Motown Mondays while still dishing up favorites such as our Succulent Seared Ahi Tuna.
	CONCEPT DIRECTOR & WEB DEVELOPER Michael "Tigger" Escamilla has been a driving force behind the concept and event planning of the restaurant. One of his many hats worn at the restaurant include managing front and back of house staff to provide seamless operations. He can be seen performing his rendition of broadway hits spontaneously throughout the week. Besides singing, he is actively involved in bringing new and exciting talent to the restaurant while still providing the casual atmosphere many have come to expect. His work behind the scenes allows us to produce smash hits such as "Motown Mondays" "New Year Eve Ball" "Murder Mystery Dinner"
